How to make Ryan's Instant Uji Mix

Step 1

Add the mix

Add 3–4 tablespoons of Ryan's into a cup. Sweeten with 1 teaspoon of sugar if desired.

Step 2

Form a smooth paste

Add ½ cup cold water or milk. Stir well — a fork works best — until smooth and lump-free.

Step 3

Add hot liquid

Gradually pour in cold or hot water or milk while stirring to your desired consistency. Serve cold or warm and enjoy.

Step 4 — Optional

Heat & serve hot

Microwave 1–2 min or heat in a sufuria on medium heat for a piping hot bowl.

Chef's tip: For a creamier porridge, use milk instead of water. Use a fork when forming the paste for smoother mixing.

Temperature matters

Always form the paste with cold water or milk first — this prevents lumps. Then add hot liquid gradually.

Use a fork

A fork mixes better than a spoon, breaking up the flour evenly for a smoother, lump-free result.

Control consistency

Add more liquid for thinner porridge, more flour for a thicker bowl. Adjust to your preference.

Don't overcook

2 minutes on the stove or microwave is all it needs. Too thick? Just add a little more water.
