Ryan’s is a flagship consumer brand built under James & Ben Enterprise, created to deliver nutritious, pre-cooked, and convenient foods made from locally sourced grains. We launched with Ryan Instant Porridge and will be expanding into a family of convenient food products. Currently, Incubated at a government-supported facility, Ryan is committed to addressing malnutrition, dietary gaps, energy and time constraints faced by urban and peri-urban households
Our Story
Ryan’s began in 2018 at Egerton University, where the initial product concept was validated but couldn’t be fully realized due to limited machinery. Motivated by rising nutrition and lifestyle challenges in urban and peri-urban households, the team advanced its efforts and joined the Kenya Industrial and Training Institute (KIRDI) in 2022 under contract manufacturing.
In 2023, Ryan’s launched its first KEBS-certified flagship product, (Ryan Instant Porridge)a nutritious, pre-cooked, and convenient food made from locally sourced Finger Millet grains, produced through modern technology while honoring community cultural values. The brand later introduced its second product, Ryan’s Instant Uji-Mix, a blend of carefully selected grains designed to offer a more balance diet, nutritious option and convenience anywhere.
